The NEW SolarEdge P401 Rail Mounted Power Optimiser is available to order today from CCL Components.
The P401 is best for getting the most out of your high-powered modules with 60/72 cells. Having a higher rating for DC input power (400W) than the P370 – it allows for more powerful modules to be used for your new SolarEdge PV system. In the same respect, if you are upgrading your modules on an older system anything up to 400W the P401 is perfect.
It is a faster and easier install process with only one screw, 1.2M cable length and uses industry standard MC4 connectors. In line with SolarEdge’s stringent safety standards, it is also rated to the highest Fire-Safety standards with Certificate of Compliance VDE-AR-E 2100-712.
HOW OPTIMISERS WORK –
Essential for any SolarEdge solar PV system – the P-Series optimisers act as a DC-to-DC converter and are attached to each individual module. Historically, one faulty inverter could affect the whole string of modules causing massive reductions in power generation. With each power optimiser connected via cables to each module in the solar array – it maximises the energy production of each individual module. By constantly tracking each module’s Maximum Power Point the power optimiser reduces potential power losses due to shading, leaf or snow cover or simple degradation over time.
OPTIMISERS INTER-COMPATIBILITY –
The P401 has been added to the inter-compatibility list of the P-Series optimisers which allows the P401 to be used as a replacement optimiser.
It should be noted in normal circumstance, installing a different series and model of power optimiser in the same installation is allowed if they are installed in separate PV strings. However, the new P401, among others in the P-Series, are inter-compatible and CAN be installed in the same PV string.
The compatibility table shown below details the P-Series models that can be installed on the same PV string. Either during initial install or optimiser replacement.
