In 2010, the first three-phase SMA inverter was rated to 17kW. In 2012, a domestic single-phase solution was introduced. In 2014 a new commercial option was made available rated to 25kW. Then in 2017, the sunny Tripower CORE1 is introduced providing a diverse selection of inverters covering different sectors within the domestic and commercial markets.


Today, we have the SMA Sunny Tripower CORE2.



The brand new, state of the art string-inverter, rated to 110kW, is SMA’s most advanced yet. Building on the success of the CORE 1, the team at SMA have made their newest offering the ‘go-to’ for commercial end-users and installers alike.


The CORE2 is a far more flexible inverter compared to its predecessor. System planners can benefit from maximum flexibility in string design – which allows them to implement different commercial systems up to the megawatt range easily and conveniently.


Suitable for both rooftops and ground-mount systems, different module orientations can be taken into account. This means that system installers will be able to achieve the highest energy yields no matter the location of the PV array.



The Sunny Tripower CORE2 is future-proofed so that benefits from greater integration. Where the market is heading and what the CORE2 has been designed to integrate with, is the need for commercial battery storage.
